BMX Track RIP

Our beloved BMX track has gone (sob sob).  For those of you who have ridden in the Foret de Soignes/Zonienwoud and especially if you've ridden the Nero BLOSO route then you'll know the piece of trail we're talking about.  This great piece of technical singletrack went from the old brick railway bridge (where Bundersdreef goes under the railway) and  headed alongside the railway in the direction of the Bos Museum.

We knew that it's demise was imminent (to make way for the widening of the railway) but we got reports last week (11th October) that the trail was taped off, the heavy vehicles had moved in and construction work had begun.

So it's goodbye to an old friend and although we're promised a replacement when the works are done, deep down it just won't be the same.

The BMX track is dead ... long live the BMX track.

Meanwhile here are some (really rather poor) photos of our dear departed friend.

Another winter shot, this time not quite so deeply frozen to the core.
Andy "mashing" it up the hill and another couple of folks in the distance.

Same day, same hill.  Hmmm, it must have been pretty cold after all.

Here's one from the archives.  I guess it was spring 2003!

It might not have been very menacing looking but it defeated Chris (another one from the archives)
